Imagine That!

Because I played along last month in the progressive challenge, I received
'Kitty in flowers'

I decided to make an easel card and use the pre-coloured images as they are so pretty!
I matted each element onto purple cardstock, some of which I had cut using nesting dies.

I added lots of bling and the huge flower I found early last year
in the Dubai Naiff Street Souq.

Hope you like it!

Colour combination

I came across this colour combo and this sketch earlier:

I love the aqua, white and silver combination! I decided to have a look through my scraps and put together something based on the sketch.

This is my take:

I used a metal embellishment that has been long in my stash, silver stars, ribbons, buttons and a bow -
 also in my hoard!
The stamp is SU's 'Dasher'

Hope you like it!

Christmas Fun - Baubles and Bows

Today starts of a new challenge over at Christmas Fun  - a Christmas card with Baubles and Bows!
Here is my inspiration...you too can follow the theme but you can also enter with
 'Christmas Anything Goes!'

My card starts off today with this fold - one I used quite a lot for last Christmas!

A 10 by 5 inch rectangle is scored vertically at 2.5 and 5 inches and then the diagonals are scored as pictured. The end triangles are cut off.
Today I used red card...

Te folds allow the square piece to 'pop up'.
I glued the bottom triangle down after adding the Christmas tape.
The image is Bugaboo's 'ak elf ornament', coloured with Promarkers and with added fine glitter.
I cut it out with a nesting die.
The final touch were the tiny bows.

Hope you will join in with us...

Just For Fun - Anything Goes

This month's challenge at Just For Fun is an easy one -
'Anything Goes!'
I am sure you will want to join in!!

For my DT card I started with a floral image that I had embossed with green embossing powder.
I then water coloured it with spritzed distress inks.

I then matted this onto a toning cardstock and layered that onto a card blank.

Finally I added bling and 'Happy Birthday'.

Easy Peasy!

Hope you like it!

I am often 'clearing it out' - using all the scraps and stash I have had for years!

I am often 'hiding in my craft room' so I rather like the name of the
Hiding in my Craft Room Challenge Blog.

I will also link this card to their challenge

St David's Day - March 1st

As it is St David's Day today,

I decided to make 'daffodils' using a heart punch,
and leaves and stems cut from green card...

I used one to make the tag on the left:

That ribbon in the middle is actually dark green but somehow the photo makes it look blue!
I used left over pieces of wrinkle-free distressed paper as the background - I had die cut the bird for the tag on the right so I had the negative (Tim Holtz Caged Bird)!

Anyway what this post is really about is a sketch:

This sketch is from Paper Smooches

Anyway, I had a look through my yellow scraps folder (the photo is not very good, I'm afraid, but all those scraps are yellows) and here is my take on it:

I have used two Paper Smooches Freebie images - the sun and the sentiment. These digis I printed directly onto the DP and orange textured paper and then trimmed or punched them.
The bottom layer uses SU's 'topnote' die - one of my favourites!
The card base is scored and folded very pale yellow card.
