Bookworm ATC

The current ATC challenge at Wicked Wednesday

is 'Bookworm'.

Now I knew I had some 'bookish' paper in my scraps...

so I started by matting some of this onto a 2.5 by 3.5 in rectangle.

The reverse of the paper is of library stamps - so I added a corner - and a book embellishment I picked up in Abu Dhabi.

I then added some curly wormy (Sissix Curlz) letters to say Worm.

Both these and the base rectangle were cut from gorgeous textured hand made paper from India.

A side on view may show the book embellishment better -

Sketch~N~Scrap Card Challenge

Today a new card challenge starts at Sketch~N~Scrap. The sketch is the following...

I have just discovered a tin that belonged to my grandmother -

full of old photographs, postcards - and a Valentine card!

This gave me the idea to use the SNS sketch in a similar way to this card -

using a heart shaped aperture...

I used a floral DP from my stash and covered the front of a square white card blank.

I then used a heart die to cut out a heart from this and stuck it in place inside.

I then added a sentiment heart stamp from Blue Moon Creations Digi Digi Doodles.

This is the card standing up, open!

is the current recipe challenge at Catch the Bug

I decided to use a Bugaboo freebie - Rainy Day Bears side rain

coloured with Promarkers. This first photo was taken on my worktable - it is a little dark - the second photo shows the colours better...

 

I added this straight on to a card base, added my sentiment and two flowers...

New Page.

Unfortunately I couldn't finish Kickstart -

I took my Mum and Dad away for the weekend - we had a lovely time on Anglesey - but I had no crafting materials and very little opportunity to connect to the Internet!

So - now that I am home again I thought I would have another go at a quick page:

This is a 6 x 6 page matted with a piece of DP - from BoBunny - very dark with a hint of a gold spot.

I added the image Skully Wreath by Teri Sherman cut out with a scalloped circle die.

The only colour I added was some gold Stickles.

I hand wrote the Poe quote "There is no beauty without strangeness".

Finallu I added a die cut bird (Sizzix die) and a few embellishments.

Do you think it needs any more?

Crafting From the Heart Challenge #45

So much for scheduling!! Anyway better late than never!!

Challenge 45 is as always Anything Goes!

I was lucky enough to use Maytime Dance Spring Goddess

I chose fairly light coloured Promarkers to colour her apart from the flowers.

I chose to mat and layer on fairly plain dotty papers from Bo Bunny 

lifting these with the red flowers to match up with the image.
