For my next project, I am making a little mini-journal out of 6 index cards. I had seen a video by Marjie Kemper making something similar so I decided to make this...

I started by adding gesso to both sides of 6 index cards.

I then added orange and red acrylic paint to both sides using a wet wipe. I then used gold paint and bubble wrap to make some marks, and red paint with corrugated card.

I added black soot Distress Ink around the edges, scored where the hinge will be, and then started embellishing the pages.

These are the first few pages to share:

I stamped the various animals in black Archival  (Stampin Up stamps from Wild About You)
I added the names and white penwork.

I will link these to Leigh's Linky

More to follow...

Happy Crafting!

  1. This is such a great idea- I was wondering what to do with all my index cards! Love the stamp set, I had a look, but couldn’t find it anywhere .

    1. You might find it on ebay. It's probably retired.

  2. You did a fab job creating your pages Susan, love the journal pages!
