I mentioned my first SPOT PRIZE on Monday - email the answer to susanrenshaw0404@gmail.com before midnight October 5th - this is your last chance to go in the draw for this first prize...
What did I make as my main 31DOH project last year?
~~~~~~~
Day 5 of 31DOH... an altered chocolate box!
My husband and I enjoyed a short trip to Prague earlier in the year -
I brought back a box of chocolates for my Mum and Dad...
Of course I hoped that Mum would give the box back eventually for me to upcycle - and she did - a couple of days ago!! I wanted to keep some of the features of the box but make it generally more spooky!!
Here's how the sides of the box look now:
This is the back - I covered the centre of the panel with part of a paper from The Other Side by Craft Box. I had first embossed this using copper embossing powder and two stamps designed by Rick St Dennis for Smeared Ink in 2013!
I then added a sparkly spider and a metal skeleton.
This is the front side, similarly decorated but leaving the clock parts visible.
So...no chocolate inside...but untie the ribbon, pull on the piece that is clipped by the top spider:
I will also link this altered chocolate box to...
Dream in Darkness - because this is the BEST MONTH OF THE YEAR
Lost Coast Portal Challenge #62 - I have used two rubber stamps!
~~~~~~~
My original plan was to place one of these inside the box:
But they were both too big...!!
~~~~~~~
All these orange sparkly spiders were in my Halloween box - and as I was looking through it, I decided to start adding things to my vintage treadle sewing machine
to start my Halloween display:
The candles were made by stamping that SU witch on tissue and melting them on to the candles (one was showing the reverse). I also added my 'hallo kitty' and 'Devil Boy' pegs to my calendar. I made these using two of my favourite Smeared Ink digis some years ago!
~~~~~~~
To finish today... I had a few scraps on my worktable so I made a couple of ATCs:
Happy Hopping!
