Today I am showing you some more of my main 31DOH project illustrating

The Hunting Of The Snark -  a Poem by Lewis Carroll

I posted the first few pages on Day 19... you may remember my doodled ATC illustrating

He had forty-two boxes, all carefully packed,
With his name painted clearly on each:
But, since he omitted to mention the fact,
They were all left behind on the beach.

You know how Facebook throws up 'memories' each day? I thought it very coincidental that it suddenly reminded me of this photo:

Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi, some years ago...

Anyway here are a few more pages:

Lewis Carroll published The Hunting of The Snark (An Agony in Eight Fits) on April 1st, 1876.
It was illustrated by Henry Holiday - this picture shows his picture of the Butcher which I used in an ATC.

The left hand page of the next double page shows Henry Holiday's chart - on the following page I used some Tim Holtz paper.

As the poem gives no idea of what a Snark looks like (nor did Henry Holiday as Lewis Carroll wanted to leave it to the imagination), my idea is to add some pages with ideas of what a Snark might look like...

Here I have used paper from Craft Box 'The Other Side', the 'moon' from marbled paper and then three images coloured with Copics and cut out.
This image is from Hellgnome Death Digis

More soon...

SPOT PRIZE Number 3!!
(mentioned on Saturday)

My question - another poem for you...From which poem is the follow stanza?
Email the name and author before midnight October 25th -
susanrenshaw0404@gmail.com -
and you will go in the draw to win a prize...

Oh, fruit loved of boyhood! the old days recalling,
When wood-grapes were purpling and brown nuts were falling!
When wild, ugly faces we carved in its skin,

Glaring out through the dark with a candle within!

Happy Hopping!
