What's on your workdesk #614

           WOYWW

Just a short post to link to the Stamping Ground today.

Kevin and I are not at home- we are in a holiday place in Paynesville, near where our youngest son and family live. For the first  weekend, we were also joined by our oldest son, Tom, and Clare, and our daughter, Sophie. We are fortunate that Victoria has eased its restrictions such that we can travel within the State. And we can have larger gatherings.

But of course I had to bring some crafting stuff...

Here's my desk picture for WOYWW 614!

The dining room table... on my craft mat you can see my collection of small watercolours with water brushes - easy to travel with! I brought a few digital images to colour for various DTs. I also brought a selection of pens, markers and pencils!

Behind you can see a pile of journals. I thought I could do some penwork in these.

Following on from the mandala of last week courtesy of Tracy Scott's workshop, (this was paid by the way), I decided to start another one.

I painted at home and have got as far as stamping here:

Week 10 of Wanderlust still has the theme of Serendipity. I am trying to make something on the RHS of the small journal on the pile - but I may have to wait until we are home...

In the meantime we have been enjoying being with family and the local sights.
The first picture is of a pretty sky the first night...

We saw koalas on Raymond Island.

The next photo is from Kevin's drone, of the Mitchell River Silt jetties.

The seagulls are ever hopeful...

And of course there are pelicans!

Hoping you are all keeping well...
Happy WOYWW !!

  2. It certainly looks as if you are having a lovely time on holiday - thanks for the photos.
I see Tracy has a workshop at Stampers Grove this weekend - tempting especially as I have the stamp already. Lovely Mandala from the workshop you did.

  3. We're all going to be so jealous of your travelling! Great idea to take those fab watercolours - wht a neat idea. I just mentioned to Neet that I've been so inspired by seeing Tracy Scotts work around WOYWW that I looked her up to do one of her classes but I can't find a list of classes, just fabulous works on her blog etc. The mandalas are so wonderful and I think they'd be great for my daughter too. As always, stay safe and keep smiling, Lisa-Jane #8

  4. Wonderful pics from your travels, so wonderful that you can meet up with fam, it’s a tribute to the go fast and go hard policy the Australian government took earlier on, I think. Loved the mandalas, talk about having the perfect stamps! I am admiring of your taking stuff to do whilst you’re away, I have stopped bothering now, I never do it. Instead I tote a piece of unfinished embroidery with me and I do manage some of that. It will have about 20 years worth of holidays in it by the time it’s finished!

  6. The seagulls checking out your chips made me smile! I could hear the ones from Finding Nemo going ‘Mine, mine’!! So jealous that you’re able to get away and meet the family, it’ll happen for us soon I hope. The mandalas are really lovely and I’m glad you took craft stuff away with you - I always do but then never seem to use it!

  8. I was thinking "those are not pelicans" LOL but of course you meant the bottom picture! I'm very taken with the picture of the koala - I've never seen one in real life, not even at the zoo. Sounds like you're pretty much back to normality being able to travel and meet up with family. Good that you are able to do some crafty stuff away - I always have that intention but end up not doing anything! Love the mandalas! Enjoy the rest of your holiday! xx zsuzsa #24

  17. Gosh I was wondering where in the world you were as you were on "hols"! LOL. I don't do holidays anyway so I'm not missing much in lockdown. Did a double take at the chips - yummy, seagulls wouldn't stand a chance matey. Oh the koala is so cute - sigh. Glad you got to take and actually do some crafting whilst away. Hugs and thanks for the visit BJ#16

  18. I'm so glad you are now able to meet up with family, Susan. You Aussie photos are fabulous! I adore your completed mandala with its lovely colours - very striking against the black background too. Lots of lovely work going on on your desk.

Thank you for your visit. I'm glad you like the crocheting together of my squares. I just wish the pretty pattern showed up better with the black yarn. Some juicers can be a pain to clean. Mine really isn't too bad - there are several parts, and it comes apart quite easily and only takes a few minutes to clean, and then I leave it to air-dry. We had carrot and apple juice for lunch today. Barbecued broccoli sounds amazing!

    Happy belated WOYWW,

  19. How nice to be able to get away and see family! We are hoping that can happen here in a few months. The photos are beautiful! I love your Mandala - are those stamps specifically for Mandala making? Looks like you brought enough stuff to keep you going for awhile! The watercolour collection looks neat! Thanks for your visit, have fun! Lindart #35
