During October you will see many Halloween-y projects on my blog as I am joining in with
I used a black card blank with a first layer of white card with three colours of ink, applied with masking tape. I trimmed this to size and added black soot Distress Ink around the edges.
I then added the bats with black soot through a PaperArtsy stencil PS288. I then added the witch. Initially I tried to stamp directly onto the stripes of ink - but it didn't show up. So I stamped it onto white card and cut it out. I decided not to add any colour to it.
Finally I added part of one of Leigh's sentiments, trimmed and added with the black Distress ink.

Some time ago I said I was going to intersperse the pages of my Halloween album with poems, each with some link to the illustrations.
This page has some dark nursery rhymes alongside.
Ring a Ring o Roses, or Ring Around the Rosie, may be about the 1665 Great Plague of London: the “rosie” being the malodorous rash that developed on the skin of bubonic plague sufferers, the stench of which then needed concealing with a “pocket full of posies”.
