Lois Mailou Jones

I always watch out for a new release from Oddball Art Stamps

The most recent one is

CCC PREMIUM MEMBERS EXCLUSIVE FEBRUARY 21 LOIS MAILOU JONES

and I have used the image and sentiment from this today.

I started making a junk journal some while ago and I have added a page today.
Each page is cut from recycled cardboard from packaging. Today's was part of a Corona beer carrier. The back of each page is covered in a Kraft patterned paper so I decided to print the image and sentiment on kraft.

You will see a similar post on the Oddball blog,
along with other posts you might like...

Step One:

I prepared the background - lots of patterned images from Cut and Collage 2 by Kale James.
I added a bit of pen scribble and Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges.

Step Two:

I attached some brightly coloured die cuts of a paintbrush, artists's palette and paint tubes.

Step Three:

I added the sentiment with faux stitching, using a Micron pen, around the edges. This was on dimensional tape.

Step Four:

I coloured Lois Mailou Jones with markers - the photo does not really give her justice - and I added a gold die cut crown.

Happy Crafting!
