What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #612

                          WOYWW

How does it get around to Wednesday again so quickly?

Anyway, better write a post to link to the Stamping Ground.

Here's my desk picture for WOYWW 612!

This was my area in the utility room this morning having made a start on another Tracy Scott workshop...

Yet again I have journal pages to show you.

From  a Tracy Scott workshop...lots of colour (plus two cards with the leftovers).

To Week 7 and 8 of Wanderlust... lots of personal mementos and more toned down colour schemes.

For these pages I need lots of book paper, music pages and ephemera - so although I am using lots of personal stuff I am gradually amassing a collection from the Charity shops.

I have finished Mum's knitting, bar stitching in a few ends but don't have a new photo.

I decided I needed to sort out my dies.

I now have a set of folders where I know I can find certain dies - and the top of my box is visible, rather than having a conglomeration of lots, that have just been used, on the top...

We did manage to eat some of the peaches from the garden but...

To finish... some Aussie photos taken by my middle son in a reserve near his home

but also

Hoping you are all keeping well...

Happy WOYWW !!

Keeping in touch via Zoom!

This time last year my husband and I left the UK to come and live in Australia - where our three sons and daughter already live.

  Mickey and my friends in the UK Stampers Network treated me to a 'Bon Voyage' Party!!

We had a lovely day crafting and ended up in the pub...

Little did any of us know that within just a few weeks the world would be a different place...

So when we started having fortnightly Zoom sessions, it became really important to me in lockdown - even if I did have to get up at the crack of dawn!!

If you are in the UK why not join the UK Stampers Network - Zooming is just part of the fun!

Any way back to the Zooms...

We chat... and craft-along...

For the last few we have been including little workshop sessions. I think the first one was exploring scrap backgrounds with Mickey...

Next we had a doodle day with Ina...

This second picture shows work done by Ina's autistic students.

My workshop came next - making little boxes in time for Christmas.

And then we had Ann's rosette decorations - I saw things like this on sale for $25 each in the local market! I don't have a picture of Ann's demonstration model but here is one of Jo's makes after the event.

At the first Zoom in January we enjoyed Sheila's wax frottage technique. I, for one, made lots of backgrounds and they have come in very useful!! Here is Sheila's photo:

Next we had Jo's mini album...

And then Jan's Valentine slider card. Again I don't have a picture of Jan's example - but this was mine:

Then just last week we had Anne's mini tag/gift card album...

Why not come and join in the fun?

It's been toooo loong!

For this inspirational make I have used  Kawaii Valentine Giraffe #136

You will see a similar post on the Oddball blog, Oddball Art Stamps

with details of today's creation, along with other posts you might like...

Today I have made an easel card!

Step One

Using my shimmery water colours, I painted the printed image.

Step Two

I made an easel using a piece of paper 12 by 6 inches in sand, scored at 3 and 6 inches along the long edge. Folding these to make an easel, I added a 6 inch square in sand, as shown. I added a layer to the two square faces, made of a purchased hand made paper to which I had added speckled egg Distress Ink through a stencil (from Heffy Doodle).
 I tore these squares to size.

Step Three

I trimmed the image to size and added it a rectangle of the sand card and added faux stitching around the edges with a Sharpie. I prepared the sentiment in a similar way - this was from Imagine That Digistamps.

 Step Four

I attached both the image and sentiment on dimensional tape.

Step Five

The card will now stand up.

Step Six

I then added some heart gems in pink to link up with the image.

A poem lovely as a tree...

This is my make for the DT team of Outlawz

Sunday - Songs and Rhymes

For the month of  February our sponsor is: Wink Wink Ink

The  challenge  is to take inspiration from...

Find inspiration in the song or rhyme:

Trees

I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Note:  The theme doesn’t have to be taken literally.  You may use any word or phrase out of it for your project.

Again this is a make from one of our Craft and Chat Zoom meetings (with UK Stampers Network)

One of our number, Jo Wyles, demonstrated how to make a mini album pieces of 12 by 12.

I used papers from Webster's pages and these linked up with the Wink Wink image I used. During the same Zoom meeting I sat and painted the printed image with shimmery water colours. The photo doesn't really bring out the shine...

You will find this on the Outlawz  Sunday Songs and Rhymes Challenge on February 21st.
