If you follow my blog you will know that I am fond of fancy fold cards.
Mrs A at the Butterfly Challenge  is a good source of these.
The current challenge is B for Bow fronted card and Mrs A gives instructions for these here
The wheel associated with this challenge is as follows:

Here's my bow fronted card:

I used buttermilk - the card base and the buttons that latch the card in place.
I used Beau Blue and Burgundy in the narrow strips of washi.
Butterflies appear in the patterned paper from Kaisercraft Mix and Match 12 by 12 pad.
I used the colourful butterfly buttons to link the colours of image and wash together.

I spent rather a long time looking for buttons - I had lots of pairs I liked, but threes no...

The image is the current progressive freebie at Outlawz so you will see this card there too...

The image is

It's Tea Time

from

The Paper Shelter

I used it pre-coloured as I thought the colours would fit my card.

From above:

I will add this to Leigh's Linky.

Happy Crafting!

PS... Angela asked in the comments if it will lie flat - yes it will but it will be as thick as the buttons...

  1. I like this folded card, too! It seems to match the steampunk feel of the image! Great job!

  2. Great card, Susan! I've not come across a bow fronted fold before, looks fabulous! Can't wait to see what September brings in the Progressive Freebie.

    1. Yes it does Angela...it is held in place by the three star buttons. Un-tuck it and it will lie down to 5.5 by 4.25 inches. I will add a photo above... However it will still be as fat as the buttons...so could be folded as second photo but then about 7.5 inches long

  4. Love this card you have made using version I. You could always add faux buttons if you have a button die and they would lie flater as in my card. thankyou for coming and spinning the butterfly wheel with me this week. Hugs Mrs A.
